Well after selling my corsa i was without a car, and i have wanted a cheap track car for a while..
I saw this pug 106 gti for sale locally, relativly cheap too.. so i picked it up and put a new wing mirror on it as the drivers side one was held on by gaffa tape..
Since i have had it 70% of the interior has come out, mainly due to a water leak through the passager rear light and a blocked sunroof drain.. plus it makes it lighter and fitted a pair of new number plates..
I then bought a load of bits off a freind who races a 106 in the 750 motor club hot hatch champ..
Set of gti wheels in silver with yoko A048's in medium
Set of gti Wheels in black with yoko a048's in soft
Omp upper strut brace
polished cam covers
Ported and polished head
Pug sport grp N cams
Pug sport grp N ECU
4-2-1 Manifold
Tarox multi grooved discs
Ferodo ds3000 pads
Set of spare calipers...
All for a bargain price of £400.. ace
So i fitted the gti wheels in silver and at the end of the month should be getting some GAZ coilovers.. Then have a major fitting session with the other stuff i've accumlated..
The brakes will be going on very soon the head maybe over winter
The wheels on the right were fitted to the car when i bought it, will be refurbing them and putting on some decent tyres for the winter months, as i dont fancy the yoko's in the ice / snow etc
The black wheels need 2x new tyres but are £64 + vat each
I also have the neccesary bits to move the battery to the boot, and a corbeau revolution to fit at some point..
Hoping to get it onto a track maybe towards the end of the year as im skint

pretty much dude, wont see any major performance gains from them, but they were uber cheap really.. with all the bits i have plus and exhaust and air filter the engine they were on previously saw 150 bhp.. so hopefully will be similar when i bolt mine together...

Had a bit of decent weather for one yesterday, so i decided it was about time to do something about my sunroof (It was leaking)... Original plan was to remove the complete sunroof and bolt a sheet of carbon over the hole and seal it..
Here you can see my gaffa taping up of the roof to stop the leaks, and the sheet of carbon behind..
So i set about unbolting it from the roof leaving a nice big hole.. i lined up the carbon sheet over the hole and thought it may look a little poo, plus the roofs a funny shape and it made the sheet of carbon look like it was on the piss..
I decided to go to plan b, which quite frankly i didnt have!! Took the glass out the frame and had a brain wave.. Use the glass as a template, cut the carbon atatch it to the sunroof mech and seal it up.. cool...
Marking up the carbon with marker pen..
Then cut it to shape, used a pair of scissors for this..
Then onto ataching the carbon.. i drilled out the existing mounting holes to 9mm, and put a set of aluminium rivnuts in.. i also had some aluminium button head bolts to attach the carbon sheet with..
Like so..
The drilled the carbon, and bolted it on
The refitted the frame to the car, plastered it in roof sealant (too much actually!!) and bolted the carbon back down.. Hoping the excess sealant will come off ok but you get the idea
May start moving the battery to the boot this weekend also
