How much can you comfortably lift on the bench press (free weights)
I can comfortably do 8 reps of 50kg (2 * 15kg plates + 20kg official bar)
I can also manage about 4-5 reps of 60kg (2 * 20kg plates) but I find this quite hard.
I have been going to the gym properly about a month now and I can deffinitly see an improvement on how much I can lift...hopefully ill be able to do a full 8 rep set of 60kg soon

Never tried with free weights but i can lift a lot less than i thought i could on my mates weights bench
I was benching 140 lbs when i was 15, i'd probably struggle to do that now

I normally do first set of 7 at 75kg, second set of 7 at 80kg and my mate will really push me to do as much as I can at 90kg but alately I've been really poor on the last set, I don't have the answers or it.

Can bench 50kg. But don't count the bar. Think my mate is benching 135 atm or something silly

I saw a guy close-grip benching with 3 plates a side (140kg) for 8+ reps the other day. Was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in the gym.
His size:strength ratio amazed me too because he didn't appear to be very big. (14-15 stone max, I've seen 19 stone guys who can only do that much with a wide-grip)

I just used to use dumbbells, best i got to was 26kg on each. Used to go on my own which was a problem, somedays I wouldn't be able to do the first rep, drop down to 24 but then still not be able to do the first rep! Other days i'd be able to do 3 sets of 6 (it would also always be just one arm that failed too). Used to piss me off something rotten, don't know if it was psychological or what!
Then squats, i couldn't get more than 45kg + bar over my head to be able to squat

That's some serious weight! Mate of mine is pushing 60Kg per arm when doing inclined dumb bell press, and he's a total machine!

I'm guessing he doesn't have to pay for the weights, they are free?

I read it as hes using a smith machine and sliding weights on, as oppose to using dumb bells. If not I have no idea!

It's a Panatta Sport press machine that you slide free weights onto.

Watched a guy do skull crushers (triceps) with over 120Kg on the bar.
That impressed me.

For reps john? Jesus.
I find skullcrushers with 40kg hard enough. Usually get 10-12 reps out.

Yes for reps mate. I watched him push a set of 10 out then commented on how he was doing more than i could bench.
Whats even better is that to look at him you'd be forgiven for thinking he didnt go to the gym. He was a big broad and well.....a fat bloke, stood about 5ft 10" tall and had almost 0 definition just mass.
Threw the weights about like a machine tho

2 sets of 10 x 60kg
1 set 10x 70kg
Working my way up to three sets of 10 x 70kg
Perofmance can depend on how I am fueled up though.
Brother can do around a 3 sets of 8 x 90kg
Having a break from the gym at the moment as its playing havoc with my CNS and imune system

Yes, some people don't appear to look strong but are, and then you have steroid monsters who can't hit harder than my 11month old son, I'm quite decieving though, I'm 5ft9, 12st 8lb but I'm as strong as an ox and in the gym I don't act like a gay, I just keep quiet and lift things.
