Dont think there was anything else he could do, he let him back in front which was the correct procedure, only for Raikkonen simply not able to put the power down, Hamilton took him back to avoid being slowed down and lose time against other racers. I wouldnt say that Hamilton was in the wrong?

why would maclaren need a petition?

they have all the data and have even said that when hamilton/kimi cross the start/finish line, hamilton was 4mph slower than kimi and behind him.

hamilton was right up his arse before that corner.

Yeah I watched it, but unless you have a copy of the diagnostics that prove that Hamilton was in full slipstream and that Raikonnen was not struggling to put the power down then all of us are in the dark pretty much eh.

I'd say it was pretty clear the way he tucked in behind then slingshotted past him

The other trouble with it is the camera lens would have been telephoto, which compresses the view, same effect as a cricket pitch, always look much shorter longways than they actually are. Saying that, in the race, thats the only view I saw so hard to say.

Watching it again, Hamiltons slipstream lasted about 0.3 seconds, no benefit to him at all. They should scrap the penalty on the strength that Raikkonen hit the back of Hamiltons car at the next corner.

Russ

He didn't slipstream him, Kimi dived left to block him and Lewis went right and out braked him into the corner. This'll be sorted on appeal, I'm sure.

Was is it a 25 second deduction? How did they come to that amount?

I think they came up with that figure by playing roulette on Bernie Ecclestones boat and just saying the first number the ball landed on, it seems that a lot of things are judged that way nowadays in F1.

25 seconds is widely known as the average time it would take to do a pit stop

Ah, because he would of been charged for a stop/go penalty... fair enough on the time, still don't agree with the decision tho
