Yes I know its not a particularly good make but Im currently riding with the standard Astra player, doesnt support MP3 CD's, no USB, no aux, no SD card yaddah yaddah. Is it a good price? I assume AUX input for MP3 players is a 3.5mm jack lead?

I'd imagine the sound quality to be a bit rubbish but that's a lot of features for 50 quid

Not saying the astra standard unit is poor quality but im sure this wont be worse? If anything its due to my speakers tbh, I have it a bit loud sometimes so im probly knackering them

Bluetooth headunits with the mic built in aren't that great for the receiver i.e. who you're speaking to.
But for £50 it's surely worth a try, does seem to have plenty of features.

The souind quality is no worse than a standard vauxhall headunit.
It has a rear out and a sub out
I'd be looking to rip the unit apart and put a new mic somewhere remote.
I bought one to install in a possible temp drive around

JVC is a better name, yes - still bottom end of the scale though.

Blaupunkt?
No USB/SD card support though
edit - My stepdad has had his JVC head unit for yonks, think its been in his last 3 cars about 5 years now, uses it everyday and bits like the front fascia are always removed and has never broken....

Kenwood one is ok, lacking SD/USB support though. Alpine has nothing

USB support is fantastic. Kirsty has a Sony head unit that set her back £89.99 and a 1GB memory stick that I got from work for her.
She slaps a folder of new music on, plugs it into the headunit and away you go.
ANNNDDD no CD's banging around.

Yup thats what im after, which is why I would like at least USB and Aux, as the missus has her ipod and I have my phone, would be nice to just dump a USB stick in the car, wouldnt look out of place

I recommend any Kenwood - I got a cheapy one when I got my car and it has been absolutely fine ever since. Plus they have a neat and simple Bluetooth addition for newer models.
