Our local tyre place keeps trying to sell us Kumho tyres at stupidly cheap prices, keeps raving about how good they are etc... I spoke to one of our motorsport customers today about a car we are working on for him and he commented on the fact he gets his tyres from the same place as I do, he has been buying Khumo for the last year and rates them as a great tyre

Personally I always thought of them as being a cheapo ditchfinder like nankgant etc...

peoples experiences?

After speaking to the wholesaler they are telling me that kumho have come on a long way in the last 18 months, and also confirmed they are used a huge amount in motorsport.

it seems the KU31 pattern is the best, everywhere I ask including other garages we deal with seem to rate them.

I may have to try a set.....

It was the performance in the wet that worried me. They just went totally off! Not good considering how much rain we get.

Will be interested to see if they have improved at all

I had them on the front of mine when I bought it, they wernt good they wernt bad, I put Bridgestone Potenzas on after them and I cant really tell a difference between Khumo and Bridgestone

I looked at Khumos when I got the bridgestones thoguh and for 205/45/17 they were £60 a corner

My OCD got the better though and I got the Potenzas cause they are Fiat OE

Ive used them alot and quite like them, no good if you hack into roundabouts with standard suspension as they wear quickly on the edge. Good grip tho. Just bought myself a pair of the new proxies which came today so looking forward to trying them when my tracking is sorted!

I work in the tyre trade

Khumo's are a great tyre

and I think you'll find they have given your local tyre place an incentive dave

never used them, but the attributes Matt describes where the same for the falken 451s i had on my corsa, absoloutely lethal. I was shocked to find people fitting these tyres to bmw z3 Ms with 320bhp RWD and o traction control
they couldnt handle my 90bhp corsa sport
