seeing as the living room just needs proper paint, blinds and a few finishing touches....on with the BEDROOM
when I bought house:
stipping it back (just needs a lick of paint I thought...)
sick of wardrobes already:
hate this too, that can come out:
Then I get carried away as per normal....ceiling down as I was bored...
roof! feck
just need ideas on what to do now!!
Ordered 3x walnut/mirror doors today and a track (40% off in B&Q!) to make a 2.7m opening on the far wall (anmd 30cm false wall either side)
Got TV going in wall again, fireplace and projector to put up (again lol)
New window already in, door already bought but wont be on for a while
all walls need reskim, going to make a false wall behind wardrobe as its very cold/damp wall, carpet and new bed and it will be done!!

well it would have a ceiling now, but i came home to find the builders put scaffolding up all round the house yesterday and blocked my trailer in lol so cant get the plasterboards doh!!!
also smashed my new outside light clean off

one behind each bedside unit for lamp/phone charger and alarm clock
2 inside wardobe (one either end) in case I want to put a TV in here (hidden by the doors)
one behind door for vaccum
One in far corner for floor lamp and vanity table thing
One last one in front of window where TV will probly go
cost like £1.50 for the hardware plus a few minutes of my time, might aswel put them in now as it will be a bloody pain later once plastered and papered!
you can never have too many sockets, plus all but 1 will be hidden

I havent got the patience for it tbh but I did get a quick hands on tutorial with a site contractor we use on our new builds quite cool doing it yourself though

well, i priced up sheets of polystyreen (sp) in Wicks and it came to £25 to do the wall, bloody expensive I thought!
So i cut up my old peices of platerboard and nailed them to the wall to fill the gaps lol
Makes a big difference already, wasnt too bad, just with clothes and bedding being in their I wanted it to be right

oh, and the false wall between the bedroom and the wardobe I decided against putting insulation in as it could stop the heat from getting into the wardrobe, can always change it later before I plaster
got 3 chrome flush lights infront of the doors and 3 inside the wardrobe as its dark inside!

I wouldnt bother tbh as the air inbetween the wall and the external walls acts as an insulator. (basically it wont conduct heat from the room) Hence why wooden battons are used to mount plasterboard.
Mind you fibreglass would of been a cheap option if you really wanted to insualate it

That looks quality mate ! I would have put a vapour barrier on your stud wall to the exterior wall though. Would stop damp getting through

i spent a while looking at doors from a lot of places, and in the end I was going to get them custom made
then about a month ago I was in b&q, and they had 1/3 off them, so I bought 3 in walnut finish. I wanted mirror ones but didnt want them to look like they were from the 80s, and the chunky boarder makes them look fresh
I think they were 90 each, plus about 40 for the track. I will be getting the insides custom made later on with rails/shelves/draws etc
They fit by using spacers to get the gap right, its 89" high plus or minus 12mm. As we made the full frame from scratch, I made it 89.5" gap to allow for a skim of plaster + carpet. You can adjust the door height tho to suite.
Width wise, 2.95m is the max for 3 doors (can go up to 4m with 5 doors) but I cut the track down by 17cm so the wood frames overlap, as it looked odd with 2 chunky frames next to each other. My attention to detail is obsessive at times lol
I could have squeezed 4 doors in, but I wanted an even (35cm) wall either side and 35cm facia above. The solid wood doors looked nice, but mirrors make the room look a lot bigger, plus come in handy for when the monen come over  lol
Ps - to fit the doors you just sit the bottom rollers in the track, and then clip the top fastener on, pretty much impossible to fall off

new bedside cabinets:
£200 each in B&Q and they only come made to order, but someone sent out 2 in the wrong colour, so I knocked the sales guy down 3 times to £50 each and a free set of soft close runners!! Bargin I think
Just need to choose my handles once I get the rest of my gear
