Alright, got 8k to spend on a car. Must be faster than a 106 GTi, reliable, and not have enough miles on the clock to have been around the world and back. What would you choose? Would prefer a comfy car.. What you think?

Funny you say that was looking at R32's at the garage today, they are beautiful. Reliable? What kind of mileage they go up to you know? Whats everyone think about Mondeo ST220's? And don't really want a Impreza, costly when they break and you need a share in oil to run one. Would a TT be a good choice you think?

R32's are generally more than 8k.
ST220's look ok but its a mondeo...could you live with that?
TT's are nice imo, just a golf coupe. Some folk think there a bit camp, girlie.

TT's are nice...but lets face it i did say save a couple of grand and get an r32...there much better than st220, what would you sooner do, get a mondeo, or let a good car like an r32 get away for just a couple of grand, just look at them (blue FTW) they stand out

Just looked on autotrader, a mint blue one which has done 50k, is going for 10k. Very nice! What mileage they go to if looked after? Will need to keep the next car for a good 4/5 years!

Yeah I know mate. But you can get a nice st220 for 6k!! 4k cheaper than the golf, but the golf is amazing to look at, and bet its quicker than the st? Whats the figures for the golf and st?

ST's around a second slower to 60 than a TT/R32/S3. Top ends not anything in it.
I think id rather have a VW than a ford.
If you like fords & have Golf R32 money then why not look at a Focus ST? You'd get a 2yr old on for 10k if you look in the right places!!

Yeah, but I like the look of the golf than the focus! But they're all lush cars. Think the focus would cost more to fix if broke? I don't know, hard decission really just want opinions lol!

Golfs going to be what a 2003 at that money? More likely to break than a 2006 focus, plus you get the remainder of the warranty & no mot to worry about for a year. Something worth thinking about if your going to be keeping it a while, do you really want a car thats already approaching 6yrs old!?
