Naa doesn't look like it.

I'd love to go there, they do tourist trips now so no doubt it'll lose some of the qualities that make people so intersted in it.

probably best way to travel back in years ( if u know what i mean..)

i know they say that aeroplane crashed onto this thing and it exploded.. but what people say is that they were pushing the reactors too much and they overloaded!..

my neighboor (or atleast i used to live next door to him) was affected..
poor guy, he had not been affected in any way u would see, just normal guy, but his kid (who is year older than me) looks like a 3 year old, and no one knows how much longer she will be alive.. she doesnt grow as anyone else, strugles to do all kinds of stuff, cant talk.. she has been taken to a special hospital in russia, Moscow, and after some treatments she can handle fork and knife, but still..

very sad event IMO.

that would be disrespect to all the people who were there..

I am reading about it all on wikipedia(in russian though) and there are lots of different versions... icluding earth quake(registered just before the explosion), some pipes of big radius exploding(found fragments of these pipes). i guess it will never be discovered the real cause of this..

Iirc what happened was they were running tests with different control rod configurations that led to a dramatic increase in the reactor core temperature. This caused the cooling water to boil rapidly, causing a large explosion blowing the reactor lid apart. (thats the abridged version anyways).

Possibly meant it was unsafe until 2000?
