Hamilton is aided by the fact he's just won the title.

If you remember back to Hoy winning the 3 golds i'd say that gave the country a bigger lift!

I'd say Calzaghe (especially after he bows out in style tomorrow night) but that's because I'm Welsh! Personally can't see anyone bar Hamilton winning it just because it's so fresh in peoples minds and McClaren will have their PR people pushing his cause.

What if you don't have a house and you think rubbing shoe polish in your face is funny?

It's interesting how the best British sportsman never gets a mention or wins it, despite holding 13 World Championship titles in his sport, they shouldn't let the public vote as they clearly can't acknowledge this fact.

It's a debate as to whether most of England would call it a sport though,

Although if he did win then at least the winner WOULD have a personality for once, Phil Taylor seems like a great guy.

For the record, i kinda agree with you and i'm not saying it's not a sport, just it's not nationally/internationally popular enough for something as high-brow as the sports personality award

I see your point, but I didn't class it as a sport, the appropriate people did, it's got very popular and IMO is a far more skillful game to play than some sports, hand-eye co-ordination and all that, the prize money beats a lot of recognised sports nowadays.

Hamillton or Hoy should win

Not Murray cos he is a tosser

and definitely not Adlington. WHY ? because she lives a a couple of street away from me and im sick of seeing her face on newspapers and stuff. PLUS she is a Derby fan.
