After seeing a few mates of mine one who has a Glanza and the other who has a Starlet is it wrong that I want one?
My mate who has the Glanza says he raced a redtop corsa the other day and beat it! and worse news for the corsa apparently the CV boot/joint (not sure which) split so he had to pull over and try to fix it
1.3 so cheap tax and I think you can pick them up for about £3,000 now

the 1.3's are shite, and the 1.3 turbo's are import..so insurance will cripple you.
a redtop will cum it also.
i like but very much dislike this car at the same time.

Insurance isnt as bad as you would think on them. My mate had one at 18 fully comp in hes own name. Think he was paying 1800, which isnt too bad i dont think.

Sort out the boost restriction in 1st and 2nd, and a standard redtop will lose.

I was loooking at these at one point. Some of the really nice examples when i was looknig where circa 5k. That is a lot of a 10 year old import imo
For that sort of money you can get alot better car. 200sx's etc.
In standard form they are naff, nothing to shout home about. Tuning a 1.3 is also stupid, it will cripple the fuel economy.
I had a friend how had one with about 220bhp and on the beans was doing around 5mpg

a glanza with the boost restriction off is level with a red top corsa! trust me as i raced someone countless times and we were level up until 70ish they are very underestimated cars! and i would recommend one for a first starter on a reliable turbo'd car! i gave mine death alot of the time running 1 bar- 1.3 at 180bhp and 200 foot pound of torque. that left leon cupra's, civic type r's (ep3s) cooper s's a boxter behind and alot more.

well from my glanza i went to a 1989 volvo 340 and now have a teg engined eg civic. something about Honda which is so nice. though i abused the glanza all the time i was constantly scared of breaking something. only prob i had was a boost hose popping off. vti's though i can imagion are good! i had a esi soch before my current car.
