How often do you "give it some?" Ive started to think about how often I do now, seems to be quite a bit, by giving it some though I mean to 3.5k

Id say my car has quite an easy life

Fairly often, cars are built to be driven though, don't drive it in any way that would damage it even when I am giving it some.

I often use quite a bit of the rev range but I rarely give it some, ie change gear quickl,y keeping high revs, go close to running out of grip type thing.

All the time, hence averaging 22mpg from a 2 litre diesel (although I think the different wheels have thrown the figure out slightly)

It's so good to drive, I can't resist it.

Not very. Which I guess is partly why it still hasn't had its 1st service done. Got another 1,100 miles till it says its ready. That will be 18,600 miles

Not very often. I drive my Corsa slower than my Metro most of the time.

...unless some silly, gay Subaru driver has a go.

Not much tbh.

Very rare i use the car, always let it warm up, but by the time its warmed up, im at work Never over 2k on a morning or on way home, too much traffic etc. Only other times i use it is to go to my girlfriends, which is only 7 miles away from my house.

Odd times ill give it a boot on the way home from my gf's on the dual carrige way, or if i go out for a drive with a few mates on a sunday, which is also vary rare, usually in the pub

Only done 5.5k in about 8 months.

Now I actually think about it, it's not really that often I don't think.

Most of the time I'm just driving to work or back so the engine's cold anyway therefore doesn't go over 2.5k.

I think it's generally only when I go out for a random mooch or going somewhere out of the ordinary and I see a National Speed limit sign on a fun road.

Give it a spirited drive now & then. Today I was doing between 90 - 110 on my private runway & stilll geting 40mpg

Id say driving hard equated to spinning up the wheels lots, doing handbrakey turnes ets & having no regaurd for the car - going at speed isnt really going to wear componants.

every now and then, like mike says, i'm normally driving to and from work in rush hour on a cold engine, whats the point of taking it to the redline on the small profile? there is no point

apparently i haven't fully grasped the concept of vtec death yet
