Hello,
Just to let you guys know that myself, Fad, Ojc and jr are making our first trip of the year out to the 'Ring in May.
We're departing our fine country on the 29th of May 2009 and staying until 4th of June when we will return just in time for PVS.
If you seriously fancy coming along then I'd suggest looking into hotel bookings now as they seem to get booked up pretty quick. The weekend will be busy as there will be a bike event on the proper track but hopefully the weekdays will make up for this.
We are no means experts on the subject but we're familiar with making the trip and getting round the area.
For those of you who want to know how much money to put aside for the trip, I'd say roughly £6,450 would cover everything in a worst case scenario.
Cheers.

What would happen if you wrapped up your car on there, but didn't really care about it that much so just ran away and didn't pay

How does it work with the car that you can lease? What if you crash that? Do you have to pay for car repairs too or is there an insurance you take out with it or something? Does that insurance cover the barriers, etc too?

Rented cars for the ring normally have an excess that you agree to pay if you crash it, you also have to pay for armco (if you hit it) and closure of the track if it closes.
Normal rented cars from the airport wont cover you on the ring.
Normal cars (like ours) are normally not covered by our insurance either, we're on our own.

I'd love to come also to watch and such. However, if I leave at the same time as you, I'll probably arrive as you're ready to come home

I drove slower across europe than i did in england. Tend to relax more, and still get cover more distance than you would in the uk!
