Could be interesting, I'm into mid century modern buildings, mainly american which is why I'll either move out there, or build my own.
Post pics of where you would ideally like to live

My ideal house would be somewhere very rural, possibly Yorkshire Dales, a very old farmhouse or converted barn with a modern twist inside.
Something similar to this -
clicky
Or something like this and modernise it -
clicky

Doesnt matter where it is in the country, but as modern on the inside as possible, but as old on the outside as possible for me

Would have to be something Ive done myself, kind of old medieval castle look but with modern touches on the outside, then slightly more modern on the inside.
Cinema, bowling alley, games room, and underground 20 car garage a must

I'd love to find a nice secluded forest location with a load of land and maybe a stream to build a Huf Haus

nik, i love those houses in your 1st post, my brother has a book on them, they are mainly round california, mainly hollywood hills etc, they have a name for that type of house i think, case study houses.
cools as, there is one in the hollywood hills right on the side of a hill that has full glass walls, looking out over LA.

Thats right mate. Richard Neutra was one of the architects, I also like the Eichler homes in San Fran region

I love the design and would love to build one however I can't help thinking they'd be better suited to a warmer climate than that which we have in the UK
