yeah you need a tripod, take it off auto so it doesnt pop the flash up, use night mode or flash off mode

That's an awesome pic Matt, makes me want to go and take pics, excapt my car's dirty
Liam, if it has a "Night Landscape" mode or similar then use that. My camera's a Nikon but that just adjusts it for low light and turns the flash off.
Matt's was obviously a rather long exposure time though

Tripod and a longer shutter speed is key really.

Nice shot Matt, but the car needs the headlights or sidelights on. Also a burst of off camera flash would make it pop.

I hate the way flash reflects off numberplates and reflectors on lights!

I went and got some pics last night but the place wasn't that well lit so they're all yellow. Once they're proper colours I'll stick a couple up
Had the camera on Fireworks mode so it had a 4 second exposure

That's why you don't use a flash, then use a longer shutter/exposure time. Enables more light in. You need the camera on a tripod though.

A good long exposure, then select the car and copy it onto a new layer, cut the windows out obviously, then play with the colour balance on the background.
