I did this when I needed to replace my fuel tank, I literally ran the tank completely bone dry but carried a jerry can worth of fuel in case I ran out too far away from home.

I wouldn't recommend it, your car will fucking stink

Got 2x 20l in the lounge, 1 20l and a 10l full of E85 too. Another couple would be smashing!

its legal... just make sure its secure and upright.

A £2.99 5l plastic jobbie would be a much better idea though!

Just back from buying two 20l ALDI jerry cans. Seem good enough, no securing pin for the caps though... and the welding isnt as neat as more expensive cans!

what does it matter at £5.95; if you wreck it replace it - but to be honest I've bought a few power tools from there; router, router table, sliding mitre saw, soldering iron, reciprocating saw etc for less than £100 for the lot not really expecting much and they've really suprised me, for the £20 or so I paid for the saw its earnt its money 10 times over whilst renovating the house and they've had some abuse

He did do this but it wasnt always accurate depending on the way he drove etc, and it was, in that case, better to be safe than sorry...

I've run out once in 2 years of driving due to my error, I don't see it necessary to stink your car out with black stuff just for that situation
