best bet is to go through a taxi company.
at a guess you would need police checks, expensive insurance (was talking to a taxi driver his was a minibus but his insurance was about 3k ).
but im sure there are loads of rules about it.

I was a private hire driver when I was 21, its shit as theres usually too many drivers (here in Liverpool it is anyway) working alot of hours to pay the insurance, mine was £4000 a year, was using about £150 a week in diesel too and my settle (radio etc) was £65 a week, all that was efore I seen a penny myself, unless your willing to devote your life to it, I wouldnt bother. I had no life

Stupid long hours, I knew a lad who used to work for like 24 hours, have a sleep then straight back out for another 24 hours, to earn money on taxis, you've got to give up your life
I was working 17 hours in Tesco before I went on them, and after outgoings I was earning similair money for 70+ hours a week on the Taxis, they are crap.

Pizza Delivery?
Legally you'd have to declare you're using it for work, but i doubt most of them do.
Dunno if it pays well, probably depends on how much you do, but you'd get free pizza

Theres a guy down my street works as a private hire cabbie, seems to do amazing well.
Both his kids go to private school and they've got a nice house and he only seems to work a few hours a week, I'm amazing, we only live in a small-ish town so there can't be that much business, surely!

my dad is a cab driver, owns his own bomber and plate but uses a local companies radio. without even getting off his arse he earns £250 a week by renting the cab out at nights sunday-friday. he did a 9 hour shift on saturday and after diesel and radio he had £350 left.... shit money imo
