Thought someone would of posted it by now, so...

England squad:
Goalkeepers: Robert Green (West Ham), Joe Hart (Man City), David James (Portsmouth).

Defenders: Wayne Bridge (Man City), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Man Utd), Phil Jagielka (Everton), Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), John Terry (Chelsea), Matthew Upson (West Ham), Luke Young (Villa).

Midfielders: David Beckham (LA Galaxy), Gareth Barry (Villa), Michael Carrick (Man Utd), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), James Milner (Villa), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Man City), Ashley Young (Villa).

Forwards: Gabriel Agbonlahor (Villa), Carlton Cole (West Ham), Peter Crouch (Portsmouth), Emile Heskey (Villa).

Main "suprise" is Carlton Cole i guess. He's in form at the moment and i always feel you should pick your in-form players for internationals, and it's only a friendly and he probably won't play but.... come on... Carlton Cole? What's next, recall Andy Johnson?

I think Carlton Cole's earnt it with 6 goals in 5 games in the best league in the world, the surprise for me is the persistant call ups of Downing, he's a wide player who offers no width, although he's not bad at set pieces, Beckham, Lampard and Barry can do that.

Like i said, you should really pick your in-form players, so can't argue with him deserving it. Just don't really rate him at all. I support West Ham from afar, so don't get to any games but watch as much as i can on sky, and agree he's a different player over the last few matches i've seen.

Admittedly i only watched MOTD yesterday, but downing was shocking, showed no strength at all, all he needed was a slight shove and he was off the ball.

The good thing about it from Capello's side of things is although Carlton Cole is in form in the league at the moment, if he gets found out at international level then atleast it's only a friendly.

The thing was he was playing the best defenders in the league, and he caused a lot of problems

A striker having his back to the goal is called 'holding it up'.

LOL

I think Cole provides as good cover for Heskey and gives us a bit of power n strength up top, he also deserves his call up withy his form, nice to see capello picking players on form - agreed about Downing, utter shite IMO totally one footed and its not even that good a foot lol

He was shit hot at holding the ball up today against the best defensive partnership in world football just now for me.

That's the first time I've had a close look at him and he was impressive.

im glad people do see what he offers, seeing him over the past 2 seasons he has developed massively

also with bellers gone, he has no option, DDM is the quickest looking slowest player we have, so he wont run beond defences as good as man u, so cole has no option than to hold it up and get Collinson, Noble and Berhrami involved

as we play with no wingers his job is even more difficult

i know! but crouch isnt exactly banging them in!
so my thinking was bang 2 bigs lads up fornt!
2 fast wingers who like to put the ball in the air
and hopefully england result

i know what u mean there, England just doesnt have the strikeforce it used to

Spanish side has more liverpool players than barcelona players

I will be a neutral fan here hoping torres doesn't get injured.

You will? I'll be a Spain fan

Hoping they just give Torres a nice 45min run out for a bit of fitness, in which time he stays well away from the ball.

Can't stand James and Crouch, shows the lack of quality at present with those 2 names in the squad.
