Got a route preplanned from Burnley to Lancaster and back via the Trough of Bowland. If you know the place you'll know that its a great drive if you don't take my word for it, its a great drive.
Directions are as follows:
Meet on the Burger king car park, holds 30+ cars so easily enough to cater for our needs, grab a quick snack maybe? Then plod along through Padiham then towards Whalley VIA Higham, going through Whalley onto the the backroads, just after the 3 fishes restaurant take a right towards what will be signposted Clitheroe, carry on them roads 'till we get to Dunsop Bridge, we shall take a break there as there is a little cafe & petrol station there, never checked the petrol prices there but can guarantee it will be very pricey... None the less then off to the trough of Bowland, shall stop here for pics etc etc, if there burger van is there can all grab some fat. Set off again and carry on to Lancaster. Coming back I'm planning on going up towards Chapel le Dale and back through Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent, through all the little villages Stutfold, Stainforth etc into Settle, towards Gisburn, then to Barrowford, then pop onto motorway for a couple of mile back to Burger King to say our goodbyes.
Right if you're unsure of anything let me know or wish to add something also let me know...
The drive in total is around 100 miles long which in a car of 40MPG is 10L.
If you plan to hit the roads hard aim for 15-20L, maybe more.
