Hey im doing the rear disc coversion to my track car ive got all the bits of my donor GSI but the twat who had it before didnt have a cable on there (dont ask lol) so can i use my original drum brake cable or what one will i need?? hope some one can help coz im getting everything ready.

if using the newer astra g cables, it a cunt to clear the exhasut
if earlier cables i think you can use nova short and corsa long (i think )

what brakes you got?
do they have shoes in side the discs?

im guessing bud but i think there mk2 astra ones ill get a pic up. yeah the hand brake shoes are inside.

astra g ones (mk4)
you need astra H handbrake cables
will need a few fittings to support the cables (guides) - you can see them near the polybushes where it bolts on to the car...
but im having issues with clearing the exhaust atm

Ive just been looking at my brake set up this morning and i dont if its me but it really dosent look like warren G set up in the pic, heres what mine look like.

Ive measured the disc a min ago and ive found that there 240mm (diameter) 10mm thick.
And just found these sizes on ebay
Diameter: 261
Thickness: 10
Min Thk: 8
S/V: S
HT: 82
Bore: 40-50
Studs: 4
Cavalier 2.0, 2.0 16v SRi 10/88-9/95
Cavalier 2.0i, CDi, 16v 10/88-91
Astra 2.0 GTE 16v 87-9/91
Calibra 2.0 8v 6/90-10/96
So i know its none of them now! lol

Damn this doing my head in lol wish i could find the right ones, there deffiantly the mk4 astra disc's i know that for a fact coz my mate owns a parts shop and asked him. the pads are from mk4 astra but 2001 on wards. so could the calipars be from astra 2001 onwards??

do you know what mk kaddet is it? and do i use the corsa long which is on there and use the kaddet short or is it the whole cable from the hand brake lever to the calipars? hope it makes sence lol

While your on the sublect what handbrake do you have to use on a corsa rear beam converted using astra mk 3 gte rear brakes? the ones with the shoes inside the disc
