Just interested to see what sort of percentage of people have blu-ray players?

Deliberately not posted this in geek day to get a non geek take on it and see if they have taken off with the average person.

Yes if you count a PS3. Or are you on about stand alone blu-ray players

No, only really watch films on the TV for some reason lately and if I want to watch a DVD I'll use the upscaler which I'm perfectly happy with the quality of

As i have said in another thread. Acording to someone pretty high up in the recording industry, they are not going to be lasting too long.

Surely the only thing they can replace it with now is to sort out downloading services so it takes minutes rather than hours to download HD movies

The only way blu-ray will be replaced is when HD movies become available on flash memory or as said above, be able to download in minutes rather than hours.

I'm a nobody and don't have the first idea about multichannel recording so it'll be good to see who was more accurate in a couple of years.

I have a blu-ray player with built in DVD upscaler, If blu-ray stays the market stong runner then i'm future proofed, if not, then i have something to upscale my current dvd collection. That and i bought it for a bargain.

Amazing what you can buy if you stand in a car park in slough for a few minutes

i have a standalone Bluray player. Quality is ace (had hd dvd before) the player cost £189 and is fantastic.

Blurays arent that expensive, dvds where even more back in 99/00. I used to sell Titanic for £29.99! Its just a new format and will become cheaper as with everything.

You can get most non chart/back-cat dvds for £10-13 which is less than a chart dvd from Asda.

It wont last forever, but nothing does.
