Should be getting mine fitted in a couple of hours, just wanted to know what to expect (I know that it doesn't really do much in terms of performance and it will fail the emissions) but should I expect a smoother flow of power and or a different noise?

I will report back once I get it done

My dad put a straight through de cat remus on his vectra V6 changed the sound alot sounds much better, he said it made it quicker only bad thing is he has to take it off once a year for MoT.

If its just a decat by its self on a standard system it will make no difference other than turning your car into an instance MOT failure.

Expect the CAT to be removed and a bit of metal put in its place?

Power, 1-2bhp if your lucky - IE nothing. May notice a little more mid range.

I also heard de-catting makes the engine sound raspy?

In otherwords, not much point without matching exaust manifold and inlet too to aid the overal flow of gasses in and out the engine.

yeah my 1.6 sport is de catted and its rasspy, sounds loves to pop and bang..and put flames out

just put my cat back in, was far to loud and raspy sounded pants and pissed everyone off. Put my cat back in and my car seems faster, its alot quiter, but is drinking more fuel.

got it done earlier today it is a bit more raspy and a LOT louder so i'm sure it will piss everyone off sooner or later

Both my brothers now want the same setup and the general view is that it sounds good

they sound to raspy for my liking
i want a deep smooth note nothing high and raspy

The general concensus is that they are too raspy but my cat-back was fairly deep so it's nice to mix it up a bit (for the mean time anyway )
