I paid all my debts off a while back and never been in debt since that I couldnt manage.

Currently share a car with the bird and exlcuding mortgage we have an outstanding loan on the car of about £3k.

I remember I used to be in so much debt it kept me awake at night, its so easy to get money these days. Just wondered what situaton everyone else is in at the moment.

i think at one point i had around 20k debt, not now, i owe nothing and have savings....

it's the best feeling ever, although it pisses me off the amount of people i know who run up stuipd debt and then decided to go bankrupt....

if i want something i just save for it now, although once the morgage goes through this will happen less quickly.

currently i am saving £1600 per month....

Out of interest what do you do for a living that allows you to save £1600/month?

lol.... well i'll keep the Credit Card for rainy days and work expenses which will clear it each month.

but I try to keep a spare pot of cash to cover those unexpected costs if things break, that way i'll never need to use credit again, i watched my mate go from someone who is always in credit and has savings to a guy who has no money and has it all on tab.... and saw where i went wrong previously!
he di it just so his mrs could get out of debt... and now she is applying for jobs in Aberdeen and is planning to move away...

Surely this will back fire when you come to buy a house, I use 1 credit card daily and pay it off every month keep it paid up and never late that way I have some good credit history. Where as if you want a house they wont know what your history is like as u have never had any........
