After booking in yesterday and doing it today im all passed and am now busy scouring BikeTrader, eBay and some online forums. Can anyone else recommend more places please, all the bike shops in Lincoln close at 1pm in Lincoln on a Wednesday, go figure

only local places likely to have an RS125 are Vduo on gowts bridge, RWH under pelham bridge the street up from tescos, webbs on portland street might have one upstairs. Otherwise its ebay or 125ccsportsbike.com forums that will be your best bet.

Also for clothing you want to be in hein gericke for financed deals or mark phillips on the 46 for cash deals.

It was £100 for use of all their equipment, bikes, insurance, certificate, fuel, everything. If you use your own shit its £80, might as well use theirs

I wont be doing my big bike test yet, will be leaving it at least a year, as if we can afford 2 cars in that time we will probably have 2 cars, plus I dont want a decent big bike with nowhere decent to store it (im storing this on my road out front, hopefully it will fit in the back yard, although im doubtful ill be able to manouvre it

Fair enough yea, although to get an RS125 for sub £1000 seems to be tricky, especially one that hasnt been ragged to shit by the local young uns.

I personally feel the 2 hours we had riding on the road as a motorcyclist has already vastly improved my concentration and awareness of other road users and hazards when im driving my car as well, I can feel myself thinking like a biker, while driving my car, which cant be a bad thing

CBT = Compulsory Basic Training.

This lasts for 2 years and allows you to ride upto a 125cc not exceeding 14.6bhp with 'L' plates on, you are not permitted to carry passengers. After which you need to re-take the CBT again.

Full bike test comes in 2 guises, restricted access and direct access. Restricted access means you are entitled to ride any CC bike but it has to be restricted to 33.bhp for 2 years, after which you can ride what ever you like. Restricted access test is carried out on a 125cc motorcycle

Direct access allows you to jump on any bike you like after passing, the test is more thorough and more difficult to pass. You have to be over 21 to do this too. The test is carried out on a 500cc motorcycle.

In october 2008 they were supposed to change the bike test so it took you 4 years and 3 tests to get onto a full power big bike. however its still yet to change as there are too few test centres kitted out to carry the test out with.

just as well they didn't do that 4 years , its not the bikers that needs the training its the bloody car drivers that keep crashing into them.

Perhaps, but i think it should be part of the driving test to ride round on a scooter for a day so you become aware of motorcyclists vunerability and tacts on the road.

I rode a moped for 3 years before I did a car test, and although yeah its only a moped your still as vunerable and still have to concentrate as much, Ive been going on bikes since I was a kid too cause my dad has had loads of them, Im always on the lookout for bikes when Im in the car. Id hate to be one of "them stupid car drivers" they all talk about

I got knocked of my scooter by a bloke in a transit van one afternoon too, I was sat waiting to turn out a side turn into a main road, he turned into the street I was waiting in and cut the junction waaaay too much and hit me head on
