Dovedale Derbyshire Dales/Staffordshire Moorlands maybe even Derby and couple it with a day at Alton Towers.
Derby's quite a good night out and a number of really good restaurants. All depends on your budget.
Missus runs this place http://www.callowhall.co.uk/ which is about 10mins from Alton Towers, has its own restaurant (2 rosettes) or you can head into Ashbourne where there are quite a few good restaurants Taste; The Dining Room; Bramhalls; Dragon's Palace; Quartorze; plus pubs/indians etc.

New Forest? - some nice camps sites around, or if you want more than that quaint B&Bs (1hr from London down M3)
Wales, practically anywhere on the coast (2hrs from London, M4)
Cotswolds (90mins from London - several routes off M40/M4)

Lake District is where its at - get to Bowness-on-windermere - plenty of things to do during the day and loads of places to eat and drink at night.
