Thought I would start a new project thread for my Sport, now that I've actually started work on it.
After the engine had problems I decided to take it off the road, but with the 'credit crunch' kicking in I got my hours cut back to minimum, so was working around 10 Hours a week which meant the car sat in the 'Death Corner' outside my garage, where we normally put our cars that go for scrap
But with a slight increase of hours and starting work for my old man, moneys getting better which means I could actually begin with the Project
So purchased the car back in November 2008 after selling my Old Corsa Turbo, this is what it looked like when I picked it up.
Paid £650 for it, with 6 Months MOT and Tax.
Included a Full Janspeed Exhaust System, 15" Fox Alloys, Badly fitted Audio and Grubby Interior.
The Green Corsa Needed some attention so decided to use the Sport for abit whilst it was getting sorted.
So fitted my Smoked FK Headlights, temporarily repainted my BBS's White and lowered it -60mm.
And this is what it looked like for 2 weeks.
Then the car started to run like a bag of sh*t so took it back off the road where it sat for a good while outside my garage
But whilst I was skint I decided to start work on the car, firstly got it up in the air so I could give the underside a new coat of waxoyl, and get all the bumpers and arch trims off.
Once the underside was sorted out, I turned my attention to the interior, everything was grubby and tatty so thought it would be best to remove everything.
Dash almost out...
And Finally all out
The guy I bought the car off randomly had a gsi bumper sitting in his front bumper, was tatty and needed some work, but at the price he wanted I wasnt going to turn it down.
Whilst the interior was out, I decided to give the back a lick of paint and fitted a BBS Alloy, really did it just to see if I am feeling leaving it stripped out or fitting interior back in, tbh Im still undecided.
Decided to give the engine a service and paint a few bits to tart it up.
Then treated myself to a Sparco Wheel
And picked up some Chrome Vectra Handles and a Smoked Interior Lense
And picked up a Backbox with 3" Tip to replace the dtm style one
Picked up a Black Dash
And whilst it was all out I decided to paint the headlining and Pillar trims all in black.
Havent got any pictures yet, but Ive alsoe fitted the rest of the remaining roof clips in black and Illuminated Visors also in Black.
I diagnosed the engine problems being the ICV, so bought a new one and fitted it, bit of a pain int he arse to fit on these engines but got it sorted in the end and now it runs a treat
Then after hunting around for ages for a set of seats I decided to go for a set of fixed bucket seats, problem is Im no slim Jim so can have trouble fitting in certain seats, but sat in a set of Cobra Monaco S's and they fitted me perfectly, so settled for a set of them.
They are Black Vinyl with White Piping but looks cream as it needs a clean.
Purchased some Runners and some 3 Point Cobra Harnesses
And all fitted, with the dash and wheel in and complete
As you may have spotted I took the risk and purchased a set of Carbon Fibre Door Cards
Love the look of them, still not 100% sure on them but will see how I get on with them when Im driving it.
Purchased some New Genuine BBS Carbon Centre Caps and Valve Caps, and whilst I was messing with the wheels I had some play with some red rim tape, as the wheels will be being pro. refurbed soon by Wheel Wizards, as the wheels are in very Poor Condition.
But I didnt like it so ripped the tape back off
And heres how it stands now:
Im awaiting on these to turn up soon:
.Steinmetz Replica Skirts
.-90mm Rear Springs
.New Gaiters
.Morettes
So will update when they turn up and are fitted

Cheers People
Didnt get much done today as nothing else turned up except the gaiters
Not bad for a tenner I suppose.
Hopefully the skirts, rear springs and morettes turn up next week so I can get it back into shape.
Next on my list is to get a rear bumper sorted, and find a gsi passengers side fog light.

Dont have one at the mo, my old one went for my old shell, but will either look to get one towards the end of the year or early part of next year if all goes to plan, just focusing on cosmetics first.

Old boy keeps changing his mind, hes had pretty much all the work done to put it back on the road, even though hes been told the shell won't last another year with how rotten it was.
I do miss and regret selling it in some ways, as I did have alot of plans for that car but it just wasnt worth it, he hasnt put as much heart into it as I would have, all he says is that all he wants to do is drive it.
Just plan on making this one so much better than that one could have been hopefully.
