Whats the deal with the new thing this season where something charges up during the circuit then down the straights they almost push a 'turbo' button and the car goes faster 
Its like something off an arcade game, anyone explain it?

called "cur" or something like that, something to do with the battery i thought i heard? gives an extra 80bhp when needed?

Energy wasted during breaking gets stored in a battery cell, extra 80 bhp at the push of a button for 6 seconds each lap.
Not all cars use it though its up to the teams/drivers weather they want to use it.

works the same as the ebay electric supercharger. currently available as an 80bhp upgrade, from ebay, and works at the push of a button. button not included.

Extra weight of the batteries in the car may out weigh what they could gain using it.
Better on tracks with long straights

I don't think a car with KERS has won a race yet so they can't be loosing that much, plus it adds extra weight to the car.

will effect the balance of the car ect,
usualy there not soo good around the bends but then on the staights it help's them catch up.
was a good race today tbh was not exspecting button to come 1st

majority of the KERS teams (like said, not all teams are running KERS) are running the electric type (battery and motor in the gearbox), although Williams are running the mechanical type where the energy is stored in a flywheel (position behind the drivers head in the case of the Williams).
Both have advantages and disadvantages, and the use of KERS has it's positives and negatives (KERS typically weighs 30KGs and means they can't use that weight as moveable ballist in the car, this extra weight over the gearbox increases rear-tyre wear etc).

it's a bit too early to tell whether it's worth sticking with KERS, especially as majority of the KERs teams have poor cars, compared to the non-KERs runners. But it could all change once the teams get their aero packages in a few weeks.
Still, Flavio is getting his panties in a twist about the KERs system and wanting it to be removed from the following seasons.

Was a citroen wasn't? Using an electric motor for driving between stages and then the petrol motor while actually racing. Then the electric motor can also be used in a similar way as KERS to give a 150bhp boost for short periods.

The placement of the motor for the KERS also means the fuel tanks have to be smaller, and therefore shorter stints.
