No thread about it yet
Seen it tonight, was really good I thought.
Nothing at all like normal Star Trek films yet enough references to keep previous fans happy, plenty of action for the rest of the population.
JJ Abrams gets that 3D font from lost in everywhere doesn't he, exactly the same in Fringe and now Star Trek.
Worth a watch even if you aren't normally a fan

I'm not going to the pictures again, 15 quid for 2 tickets is a disgrace, illegal downloading for me.

I paid £9.40 for two adults the other day. I was well chuffed as the local cinema is £7.50 each.
So do you reckon it'd be worth watching even if someone doesn't like Star Trek?

Definitely, it's more for non trekies than trekies.

Same with my gf! She was so reluctant to see it as well, never lets me watch it any on tv, but ended up quite liking it.
I thought it was awesome, obviously much more mainstream, but all the better for it.

saw it today - thought it was great. One of the best movies I've seen for a while. Though abit long and you do have to watch it in the cinema really.

only thing you have to ask yourself...
Why does a ship which is a Mining Vessel, have enough fire power to take down the USS Enterprise???
(SPOILER) - think... they get sucked through at the start a standard ship and have enough fire power to kill anything... yet they're a 'mining vessel at that point... its only after that happens they want revenge for the planet'

It's a mining vessel the whole way through, from the future, it's got the same fire power the whole time, just hundreds of years ahead of the enterprise technology.

Don't you know anyone who's job is classed as government work? Can get tickets for Odeon/UCI/Showcase for £3.75

[ANOTHER SPOILER ALERT]
He didn't know they was going to destroy his planet. More-so, you don't actually know how far he was from the Startfleet Outpost so he could of been on his way there. Don't forget he was dropped off just before they destroyed Vulcan
END SPOILERS
