This was posted on our work intranet. How fucking strange?
Girl geeks group for techie talk
Calling all ladies with a passion for subjects in the realm of science, engineering and technology; the global Girl Geek network invites you to indulge your geeky delights at a dinner event featuring Lesley Allger, MAS Head of Rapid Engineering.
‘Girl Geek Dinners’ take place all over the world and are invariably great fun. They provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for women to talk about technology in an informal environment. Lesley will provide a ‘talk’ highlighting her experiences gained over 30 years with the company in an effort to live the dream of the Geek Girl network - to share, inspire and encourage other like minded females.
You don’t need to work in a technical role but you will need to enjoy a stimulating evening with a chance to socialise and take part in highly engaging ‘Geek Girl talk’.
Sponsored by BAE Systems, the event is taking place on Thursday, 4th June from 7 pm at the lovely************************************************
There is a charge of £5 which includes a drink and a BBQ. To register go to: http:/********************** . There's plenty of free parking around the venue and excellent transport links including buses and trains.
Men are welcome as long as they are accompanying a Geek Girl.
I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.
