All 3 corsa b's i've owned and the majority of ones i've seen all crack in the B pillar. What do i need to strengthen to ensure this won't happen again after my re-spray?

Can't you get someone to "lead" it for you?

Lead filling... I think its mostly used on older cars, but it may be better than using regular body filler. I'm not too well up on it myself TBH.

If you fill it the crack is still there though..
Vauxhall used to cut the inside of the b-pillar out weld in some reinforcing plates and then weld the back piece back in.

More to the point why not just with a another shell?? Your GSI shell has some rot, cracked b-pillar and a repaired bulk head, surely it makes more sense to buy a very clean late shell (98+) with a dead engine.

Hmmm interesting. Although i would of used liquid metal or welded it anyway but my mate tried this and said it came back again. Any other ideas? It's obviously twisting somewhere. Was going to suggest welding a strengthening bar/plate somewhere but don't know where lol?

But if you have it painted and the b pillar crcks again (which it will) or your bulk head cracks again (which it will) or the rust comes back (which it will) you will be really pissed off

The issue is for the problems you have there is no real cure.
Rust always comes back unless you have the shell dipped in acid.
Metal always cracks again as the welded sections are more brittle
As you are spending so much money on an engine surely its worth saving a couple of hundred quid to buy a shell? Doesnt matter what model it is.

...Plus the paint is already peeling off from the previous respray so if you dont go bareshell its going to peel again after its resprayed which is another cost you have to consider.. So instead of paying to have the shell bare shelled, the rust sorted and the b-pillars fixed why not spend that money on a another shell?

read before that b pillar cracks were sorted out when the post 97 model came out? so maybe get a cheap 1.0 12v shell for a few hundred.

I cut out a section of the b pillar, tacked in a 5mm steel strengthening plate and then replaced the b pillar section - it didn't crack again in 50/60,000 miles and 5/6 years
