On my tesco insurance i have got on my motor insurance schedule that i have...........

Wheels(Non standard)
Suspension lowered
BODYKIT
Exhaust Change - Performane upgrade
Air filter
Audio equipment

cost of bosywork/Cosmetic modification - £251 - £1000.

They are telling me i am having my bumper bk as STANDARD?

Now can some1 tell me WHY I PAY SOME F**KING Much for EXTRA modifications, IF i DONT get them if i smash my car.

wats the point ??????

they r right m8, they replace the car 2 standard. if u didnt av the kit on the policy they mite av void the policy, market value wud be around 3k i spose dont hold me 2 that tho, very much doubt theyd right it off

they hike the insurance as they see it more of a risk of being stolen. But think about it, whats gona be noticed more, a fully kitted out corsa being driven like a nob by some twocer, or a shitty old orion instead?? I agree with you yoyo, i dont see the point either if its only gona get put back to standard!

i know y they put it up, but i repect my car to the FULL, and always looked after it and sounds sad, but WORRIED bout it, when i park it in certain places etc.. - i have spent some much ££££ on it thats y, plus i am very over protective.

at work i HAVE to park it close to the shop window to kep an eye on it, if i cnt c it, i wait until i get a place near the window, otherwise i dnt start work

im not sure to be honest m8 but wa u cud do is buy a modded bumper an ask the insurers body place 2 spray/put it on 4 u then flog the otha 1

not good news m8, a1 condition your car is worth £2545, good condition £2300, fair condition £1780. thats based on ur mileage an ur model and the age of the car, sorry m8

what about geting the insurance to settle the cost with the bodyshop to restore it to standard, but pay a little more for the kit you need, surely it would be easier that way?
ie (rough)
Insurance Repair Costs (Standard Bodywork Fittings) - £500
Kit you Want - £650
Total payable by you - £150 + any extra needed for fitting as its going to need spraying unlike the standard black turds which the insurance might just quote you for

ps...
im havin to fork out £1800 to fix my car since the smack I had... my rear brakes failed and the insurance wouldnt pay up because the tried sayin the aftermarket alloys & suspension caused em to fail and cos the mot is up in march, there just bein tits really, even though my mods are covered!

my cars in group 4, im 17 2nd driver on me mams policy not passed test, its insured 4 market value (1800) 2 grand worth of body work, wheels cd player few otha stuff, £586 full comp for me and me mam she has 0 no claims bonus

payin £1050 with tesco on a 1.0 12v. value at £3000 i think, im 20, 0 no claims bonus. been driving for a year. one payed out bump, one dodgy claim going to court(he fakes accidents,was not an ounce of damage wen i rolled in2 him at 5mph)

Why not just buy a old piece of crap... like a really old, unmodified 1.2 LS then chuck a 2ltr in and go with liverpool victoria on 1.2 LS with engine mods???

Pointless trying to get a 1.2 16v SXi for 3.5k->4k and then doing an engine conversion in a while anyway...

Has anyone had to claim off liverpool victoria yet...as surely they wont insure a supposedly 1.0 with a 2.0 engine in? I mean when they state engine mods surely this only means stuff like K+N etc...theres a big difference in peformance from a 1.0 50?? BHP and a 2.0 150+ BHP...just a thought wouldnt want someone pranging there pride and joy then liverpool victoria not paying out??
