Deal agreed, contract agreed. Only hold up is he has a slight thigh strain so instead of him passing a medical today he is having a further specialist one tomorrow or next day.

Well thank god for that if it is true. No way do I want him back here and especially at that inflated price.

I have no idea of what the price is, it could well be that stupid price or it could be a more realisitic price (my opinion is it'll be way less than £17m).

It could well be, Ive not seen a reliable figure yet though.

I seriously doubt we have that sort of money to splash on a RB so Im doubting it.

Link to quotes from Chairman, as seen nothing fron him like that.

And I wouldnt trust the papers just yet, otherwise we're starting the season with no players.

...like he did when Defoe went...like he did when Diarra went...like he did when Muntari went...

Small club IMHO.

It was on Sky Sports news when it broke that three clubs wanted him a la City, Us, You. The SSN presenter said we understand it's between 18 and 20 million and the chairman said 'you wouldn't be much wrong'.

Not seen that comment quoted anywhere but I'll take your word on it.

My only reasoning for doubting its that amount is I know we dont have a huge amount of money, and I know Rafa has bigger areas he wants to strengthen than RB - so I doubt he'd waste that sort of money there.

Who knows on his spending but if you are that adament you have signed him then I would imagine it's a hefty price.

I saw the quote which is mentioned above, "you wouldnt be far wrong"

But i agree, i can't see them paying 18million for him, but with them being owed 7 from pompey, its quite possible they have paid 10million and wiped the 7 million owed off

Which will only take 10million from the scums transfer kitty

It could well be something like that, or it could be £5m cash, wipe the £7m debt (effectively £12m upfront) then the rest depending on stipulations. That would make a lot more sense to me. Still makes it £17m though which is a lot imo.

Liverpool dont have enough money (HoldCo problems or no HoldCo problems) to be spending nearly £20m ona DEFENDER... theres no way they are payign anywwhere near whats quoted IMO (and im talking voerall deal, not cash out the door)

good signing tho imo
