hi people,
got myself a different car, and love it so far.......
the spec:-
m reg,2.0 16v (originally x20xev)
just been fit with a recon redtop with mantzel powercap, cams, pulleys, head work,4-2-1 manny, full s/s exhaust with 6x4 oval backbox, front strut brace, lowered about 50-60mm,17" alessio vittario wheels,de-spoilered,heated black leather, all lights inside replaced with blue and red leds (apart from main interior light),suede gaitors and richbrook vauxhall gearknob, probably more but forgot.......
heres pics when i got it........

heres the engine:-

after removing the stickers and de-badging the boot:-

exhaust:-

eventually i will be spraying the whole car matt black with a white roof....i started on the bonnet today and heres the pics (looks much better than i thought it would) only reason i am doing it matt black is the red paint is really bad with scratches on it etc and i have a lot of matt balck spare so its cheap and easy,
heres pics with the matt black bonnet:-

any comments, good bad or ugly are more than welcome, i know the matt black paint wont be to everyones taste but try to relaise why im doing it........
cheers,brad

no its not trust me...just shows how much the camera lies...lol
its got a big dirty scratch down 1 side where someone keyed it,has laquer peeling everywhere, its got a lot of little scratches everywhere,
if it was mopped or porperly polished then it would probably come up quite well but it is a lot cheaper to spray it.......i would keep the red if it was good but unfortunatley its not the best,

hows that? the bonnet isnt patchy no more, none of parts i have painted today look patchy do they?
the bonnet only looked like that because the pic was took literally just after spraying so it hadnt dried, i have now re-done it satin and its totally flat now, no lines etc....

Not quite true tbh as in the photo today you show the satin bits and the bonnet was done way before that, and it still looks patchy.

If you can get the finish closer to your latest efforts it may look alright.

As Nic said though tbh!

i think that is going to look awesome!

really like the little rear plate surround bit satin black, that would be a nice touch if you were keeping the car red.

Brave man for doing it and the finish on the mirrors look spot on in them pics . Should hopefully be very cool.. but all depends on the wheels its sitting on imo.
