Well, when I was seventeen, the perfect car for me was a black RS 2000 or a black, twin plenum, Rover Vitesse. Every insurer in the country had different ideas however. I still don't have either car. 
Presumable now the scenario is similar and the weapon of choice is something small and brand new with a years free insurance and a sub one litre engine.

if it's new it will be a fiesta, corsa or c2 as no one wants a mazda 2 or a micra etc at 17 
older cars would be interesting though.
