What are people paying per month if you dont mind me asking? Our morgage was for roughly 65k and currently paying £325 a month and got about 33 years to go. My current rate is 4.78.
I thought this was OK'ish but my mate mentioned the other day he is paying 130 p/m and I remember his was 85k so surely this isnt right? Trying to get some more info.

Even on a 40yr mortgage at 1% interest the monthly repayment would be approx £215.
On an interest only £130 a month would be on a rate less that 2% over 40yrs.

£45,050 mortgage. £291 over 25 years. 5.84% fixed for 3 years. Mortgage was arranged in January. With Abbey National.
That was only 85%.
Theres a few 90% ers about now though I think?

Was Halifax Colin, that was a rough quote that was given by our financial advisor guy.
We're trying to get a 70-30 deal with HomeBuy Direct, which means they think it's a 70% mortgage, so gets us a much better deal than we can afford.
House value is £190k, 70% is 133k, we've got 12k deposit, so 121k mortgage
I think RBS were doing a fixed rate of 4.5% for 2 years, not sure if that's still standing

Wheeeit?? Who's offering 3.8% fixed??
Or are you sticking down some huuuuuge deposit?
I can only fund 20% max, well id need another 7k or so to be able to put 25% down, id need to sell my car or do something else drastic to get a better rate than 5.4% (current best with alliance & leicester) it sucks

HSBC were doing 2.99% fixed at one point but I think that was for a 60% LTV.

Thats with Halifax mate 75% LTV, 3 Year Fixed. Secured it over 4 months ago its just taken forever to go through, can't remember if it was for FTB's only. We tried through a broker but best he could do was in the 4%'s so we went direct. Also comes with the 'Half council tax paid for the year' offer they were doing at the time.
