. . .well afraid so. Well, I think I did anyway - so want some info to put my mind at ease
And for the record, I never do speed in residential areas and anything that is marked as a speed limit i.e. not national.
Anyway, 40mph limit. Was accelerating to overtake as it was a dual carriageway. Spotted the mobile camera, needle was between 45mph and 50mph.
So, how does it work? 10% + 2 or 3? So what is the cut off point in a 40mph, generally speaking, 46 or 47? If it is 47, I think I'll be ok because of the speedo overreading.
In peoples experiences, how much has a speeding fine affected insurance?
If I did get done doing say, 48mph which is over the limit, what is the damage? 3 points and £60?
Any info would be great, as I am the worlds worst worrier.

Thing is though the speedo will be a tad out...
So 45 might be 42/3
Yoy might just get a driver awareness course?

I think fixed cameras are set to 10% but with vans etc it's up to the discretion of the camera person tbh. If there's a lot of traffic and they don't like the look of you, chances are they'll have you.
P.S. Think you mean put your mind at ease mate

not the end of the world tbh! look at it that way
if you were going way over the limit or have nine points id be worried
i must admit ive been through a couple of mobile speed cameras and never heard anything after, even though i KNOW i was speeding.
up to you, if your gonna let a possible three points keep you up at night

I'm not too worried now after I read on t'internet about SP30's often not making any difference, nor does Admiral require you to tell them, according to the policy booklet.

10% + 1mph
So anything over 45mph. If you were doing 45-50 on the speedo that will be 40-45 more like so you should be ok IMO.
You'll find out within 14days anyways!

There were 3 speed traps on a local road near me on the way home
All 3 speed traps had at least one car pulled up.
I'm far from inocent when it comes to speed but was lucky this evening i guess.
I wouldn't worry too much about it deano, just try and slow down a touch.

Bad luck Deano. I've been lucky so far coz I should've been done for speeding 3 times, 2 fixed cameras that couldn't have been on and one speed gun which I was sure they were gonna pull me for but didn't. Just lucky I guess.

Dont worry about it Deano, However if you did get caught a letter will be sent from a few weeks to a few months time asking was it you etc, you send it back they send another letter asking:
£60 + 3points
or
Speed Awareness Course £110 and NO Points.
When i got caught i was doing 48 in a 40, I chose the Speed Awareness Course, its a peice of cake, sit in a classroom, with other people, learn why not to speed, Go out with an Advanced driver day over.
Simples.
