You mean the one where after the game we have carried on discussing the diving incident and the wider implications?

Why are UEFA stepping in over this, but last season they said there was nothing they could do for Fletcher as its after the incident?

They can step in and change things the ref didnt see, such as a dive, and retrospectively punish players. But they cant step in and wipe out bookings or sendings off, etc.

He can GTF. They should be having a word with Eduardo internally if he wants to come out of this looking good.

so Celtic are fuming,
Also have to disagree with that, no one from Celtic other than a midfielder we've just sold said a thing about it. Nothing from our chief exec or our chairman, in fact Mowbray stated it doesn't even matter we were outplayed and beat by a better team.

I must admit listening to this press conference he is clutching at straws, he's talking about pulling up defenders for holding a shirt. How does that possibly relate to someone blatantly diving to earn an ill gotten penalty?
He is now saying the only reason it has came about is because Scotland has a major influence in Uefa, GTF

WTF is he on about saying the refs decision is no longer final, things such as this have always been dealt with after the game.
The guy dived, say he dived and take the punishment. Tool.

I think his anger was clouding his judgement there, he'd have been better off just saying his usual 'I seen nothing'

I'd agree that this is potentially opening a can of worms, and people may start complaining more about decisions in the hope that they will be overturned.
I personally can't remember any autority stepping in and retrospectively punishing a player for diving? I could be wrong.
But it should of been happening, and it should be happening in this incident, it was a blatant dive, and he/they should be punished for it. Although, the length of punishment is difficult because he would of just got a booking in the game

50/50 dives wont be looked at. But this was so blatant its unreal. And fair play to UEFA for stepping in. I can only hope that players now think before cheating like that.

No decision is being over turned, thats the point. They arent knocking a goal off for the pen they scored - they are just going to sort the player out who cheated.
