I'm revising for a maths exam tomorrow, I have a past paper im going through and one of the questions is as follows:
Find the real and imaginery parts of:
(1-j2,/3)^2
note: ,/ represents the square root sign.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to go about solving it? I have had a look on numerous websites but they dont explain anything like this

There are loads of sites that explain that, It's first year calculus.
I can't do it though

I know, that what i'm resitting I can do the easy ones, im just not sure what to do when the whole equasion is within a bracket and raised to a power. You dont want to be doing this kind of shit tbh

i can't find anything that looks like that. i've only got one book here and it only has an introduction to complex numbers at the back.

The worst thing is that you will not use any of this after uni - Part of my course was Engineering Mathematics for 4 years!!! I could have done it 2/3 years ago but not now - haven't used it since!

they should really review each person and set their courses accordingly. the reason you find all the bullshit maths on engineering degrees is incase you want to go on to do a phd etc. most people will stop after a degree so the bullshit stuff is pointless.

when dealing with polar coordinates. I really don't miss the 1st year 'Theoretical and Numerical Techniques' modules (i.e. maths) of my physics degree
