You use it every night, it's worth the investment I reckon! Then outlets are best, look for the bed type places and get an end of line type jobby so you get a better one for your money.

What do you mean by end of line? Youve got to be right, just never anticipated them being so much!

i still swear by ebay. Alternatively have a look for auctions near you. They normally sell bankrupt stock etc.

When they have changed the design and moved onto the next one that is slightly better or whatever. Usually have a couple left they want rid of so they discount them.

True, you could go testing them and then write the names down, see if you drop on. Don't go for the softest though as they might feel comfy at first but they aren't best to sleep on. IIRC mines a pocket sprung foam layered jobby. I got slightly harder than my girlfriends as I sink into my girlfriends more and find I don't sleep as well in it.

If you scrimp on a mattress you'll only end up with a bad back or a shit sleep.

You spend about a third of your life on it, makes sense not to skimp.

I need another double bed for when we move into the new house.
Considering getting a cheap timber frame & moving the old (4yr old - think it was about £300) one into the spare room and getting a memory foam one for our bedroom
Anyone rate memory foam?

Never really imagined there would be much you can do to update a mattress design

Different types, grades, makes, and formations i.e. memory foam/ordinary foam/memory foam.

Yeah, there is all sorts once you get into it! As mentioned they are combined these days, usually a foam top.
Butler, I think they develop all the time in all sorts of areas, I imagine its quite big business!

I was almost a small partner in a company that imported the foam Couldn't get past BS standards though, it kept going on fire

Tempur mattresses are the absolute bollocks but you're talking some serious money for a King Size one

There have been good quality tempur mattresses cheaper recently.
Costco had a king size recently for about £200.
A good quality one btw, not cheap rubbish.
