Just something for me and my mate to do in our spare time to earn a lil bit of cash.

Just wondering the best way to go about this.. like where to get them printed... If we were to sell them then it would be via word of mouth at start...?

Anyway.. here is some of his work

As you can tell we will be going down the graffiti road. Maybe change that later on.

So what advice can you 'business' / 'designer' people give?

As a designer I'd say no.

And with that, I'm out.

Over to Cosmo for the business.

To be honest, I doubt you would sell many even via word of mouth. T-shirts are that cheap now and there are such a variety of them that the market would just swallow you up so to speak, worth a shot though I suppose.

I've got a good t-shirt design, just never got around to getting it printed. Never found a nice fitting yellow t-shirt that I could get it printed on.

Arent you a web designer doyle? If so build yourself an ecommerce site and get them on there. You'll make fuck all getting them printed somewhere, buy the machine and do it all yourself.

Get some funny slogans and designs going on (dont you dont them doyle), be a bit edgy, get some of your own good designs sorted....you may breakeven given your print/hosting/card processing costs.

Fuck making an ecommerce, far too time consuming / complicated

Well we dont want to sell them online at mom.. we dont have a shop.. so word of mouth is best option

Shouldn't be if they are your own design.

Are you joking? Im no 'professional' web designer as you have a website claiming to be - but even I know something like oscommerce with a custom skin, then worldpay on top of that, and thats it done.

You will sell fuck all offline, and word of mouth will not happen.

For unique tee's like Kirsty says, eBay might be a good place. Set up a shop on there.

Ebay is a good advertising tool to get them to your website, but the costs involved and the competition there you'll never make any money.

Infact you wont unless you print them yourself and your cut will be lost in paying someone else to do the work.

I know someone who does this. Limited runs of cool designs. I don't think he makes much money doing it, but it's more of a lifestyle business that just pays for itself and lets him go snowboarding for most the winter. Him and his friends do the graphics and they get printed in a place in Edinburgh I believe. They do a bespoke design and supply service for university sports clubs which works out something like £50-£100 for design and screens then £18-£25 for hoodies.
