Had to have one tooth removed (one of my upper wisdom teeth) and a filling done on the opposite side).

This particular tooth the dentist removed was quite achy for the past few months, I guess this is the reason why:

(sorry for pic quality, can't find digicam USB cable so had to use camera on my phone)

The last time I went to a dentist was about 17 years ago

Has anyone else's teeth got to such a state? Share your experiences/horror stories/costs here

tbh when I was a kid everyone went to the dentist,

They didn;t like it but they all went,

But nowadays with the way things have changed I dont sctually know many people who go to the dentist on a regular basis.

My teeth are fucked, doesn't matter how often I clean them they just fall apart.
Got one at the moment where a filling has fallen out but can't afford to get it replaced so I've ust left it for a couple of months

Wasn't a huge amount as we got a dentist that accepts NHS patients About £40ish I think it cost. Got to go see the hygienist next month to scale and polish my teeth, then I have to go back to the dentist's in 6 months time as I will probably need the other tooth removing soon.

dirty fuckers!!! brush you teeth twice a day and use antibacterial mouthwash to get rid of the germs that cause this shit

i don't mind going to the dentist. the assistant who helps my dentist (both female) is hot!

only thing i don't like is when they use that powerful air stuff to clean away stuff in your mouth. feels really weird and sort of hurts.

I have really soft teeth, always have. Brush 2 times a day & floss but still get problems.

Recently had to pay out £200! to replace two veneers on the front (which had been knocked out playing hockey when i was younger). Dentist is a rip off.

Don't mind going, been there countless times.

My Dentist is a spitting image of Peter Kay, always expect him to crack out a joke, never happens though

I don't pay for a checkup.

Brushing your teeth and not going to the dentist doesn't work either.

I don't know why people get so worried, I don't particularly like them grinding away at my teeth for a filling but I'd rather that than have the tooth missing instead.

In my case my dentist said that because of the location of that tooth (and the other one opposite that I had to have a filling on) it's quite hard to brush because there's hardly any room back there.

Might try the mouthwash thing but not yet as I still have to wait for my gums to heal properly from the extraction.

its not just about your teeth though im sure some people have strong teeth like they have strong bones, as i have always brushed my teeth twice a day and have few fillings at back and generally my teeth are ok.....

my mrs does sod all and brushes once a day dont go dentist unless something is wrong and when she goes the dentist comments on how well she looks after them im like fook off lol and she dont have one filling at all.

It doesn't matter how many times people brush their teeth, some people might do it once a day and have better teeth than people that do it 3 times, technique plays a big part and so does drinking fizzy drinks etc, diluting orange juice for example is actually worse for your teeth than cola etc.
