the chasis cant handle the power and torque tbh. probably better fitting a poorer c20xe.

Have there been any 0-60, 0-100, track, whatever comparisons yet to back up the claims that it was better than a c20xe?

one benefit of the 1.8 is they havent got vauxhall scene tax added on to them - yet. even scrappies round this way know what a redtop is so theres no way of getting one for 100 quid like i suppose you could with a 1.8

Seems like a cheap easy and fairly easy conversion, not an alternative to the XE I don't think.

How can you bodge them up when you bolt them to the original gearbox!

so basically the advice you offer is to avoid beardy for any engine conversions? i will take that on board for the future.
