Ati 4670 £45 I have this card and for £45 I was very pleased with the performance, All the games I play are on full and it runs smooth.
Core Clock: 750 MHz
Memory: 512MB
Memory Bit Rate: 128 Bit
Memory Type: GDDR3
Manufacturing process: 55 nm
Memory Clock: 2000 MHz
Cores: 320

Ati 4850 £70
Ati 4870 £100
Ati 4890 £150

There all good cards and good value I think, if you have £150 get the 4890, it's the big daddy !

When you say the games are on full, what res is that at? Probably not 1080p.

No not 1080p.
1280x720.

I meant full settings from the games options like texture, shadow, models.
I just run default for the res and AA.
I don't need 1920x1080 on a 15" lcd

The res makes a big difference, my laptop can probably run loads of games at full on a low enough res.

He just wants to upgrade, I don't this his bothered about the res being 1920x1080 etc
of if he run the highest anti-aliasing settings.

I just stick to default game settings for res and aa, if I can play it on full and it looks nice then I'm happy.
I only had £150 to spend for case, gpu, cpu, mb and ram.

It will fit if you have a PCI-E slot on your motherboard.

The Ati card with just take over from the GeForce 7050.
I have the GeForce 7050 on my motherboard.
better to have PCI-E 2.0, will run a tiny bit faster that way but PCI-E it will work fine.

4850 Specs

4870 Specs

Can shop around for better prices and scan suck for delivery and customer service, I personally wouldn't buy again from them.

The slot. orange and blue ones

Ended up in a shop today and spied a graphics card that I liked.

DDR2, 1GB graphics card @ around £70 IIRC.

Worth a buy?
