dual carriageway road, spotted the fixed camera miles away, went through needle sitting just above 70 & whap whap - 2 flashes.
Circumstances -
I was on the outside lane nose clear of the markings on the road.....so leaving the cams view?
There was a Audi in the inside lane doing a similar speed but maybe a car or 2's width behind me....still within the road markings!!
Wont loose any sleep but i'll not be too amused if I get points

Yeah 70 limit.
I was doing 71/72 maybe max.
Speedo's are usually out by a few mph anyway & you can sit just above?
Put it this way theres about 20 cameras along that road & I went through them all the same.

Very harsh if you were doing 1/2mph over. I would have thought you could probably challenge that

Couldn't have picked up something going the other way? or is there a big central reservation?

you can try but 99% likely to loose, plus fine being more in court!
I always go a few mph under as u say speedo's can b out and could be out by under reading as much as it could be over reading!

Speedo's can't under read unless they are broken.

I can't see the lines or the pic.
If it's a gatso, the lines are used as a fixed reference to calculate speed over a set distance using time for the manual operator who checks after receiving the film. The can go off at any time along them lines.

worse comes to worse its only 3 points or an awareness course and a fine.
But I think you will be alright anyway if you say you know you were doing 70ish. Wouldnt have thought they would be calibrated for anything less then 78-80

Unless you have put stupidly big tyres on them (like my off roader )
TBH colin it would of flash you twice, so would of flash you like half way through the lines, and then at the end to calculate your speed, so i would assume it is the audi
