Ok I am now guessing my head gasket is gone

Car is spluttering when Idling, seems low on power when driving, getting white smoke out of exhaust, not using water or overheating yet, no mayo in filler cap, but lots of pressure in header tank

Took it to a mates today who tested the header tank bottle for gasses, and exhaust fumes are present

Going to be pricy I know, just wanted to have a rant!

This happened to mine, I thought it was head gasket, turned out to be the gasket between head and inlet manifold. I'd just run it til it becomes obvious what the prob is, ie until you get water in oil or vice versa. As long as you keep an eye on the temp and water level then you cant cause to much damage.

There are no set patterns for a head gasket going by the way! You may only have one symptom out of many and that could mean your head gasket has blown. Dont wait for more problems to develop, get it sorted straight away or you might find that the head will need replacing if it cracks or skimming.

Not overheating but can hear rushing water sounds. Not going to use car until its fixed. Been phoning up garages this morning, not too many wanting to take it as its a sh*t of a job, might end up taking it to Lookers (£££)

Mine went last month n i never got it sorted quick enough n it caused other probs like overheating which fked up my thermostat and melted my valve stem seals, all of which needed replacin!! Make sure u get it sorted quicker than i did cos it can be well pricey!! Mine cost me well over the prices stated here!

only a 1.4

corsa is much faster accelaration and top end the renault only does 115mph on a good day thats when we first got it it would probably struggle to get a ton now
