First time i just came offa roundabout and it just stopped pullin looked at dash and the yellow engine light was on so i pulled over, turned it off and then tried startin it took a while to tick over but eventually did, when it cut out engine was stuill going just not pulling...

then worst time ever just took a bravo, at 60... hit a roundabout so slowed down to about 20, bravo was alongside me kicked it into second about to take a left and it did the same again... bravo killed me off and went was well gutted cus wanted to kill him... so i pulled over went through same procedure... actually i drove for about 10m in 3rd it just would pull over 30 and was strugglin...

any help please throught this had stopped!! happened about a month back been to vaux on there machine (the £47.29!!!!!! machine) showed up nothing....

isnt the yellow light on the dash the

some computer light that shows theres an engine fault yeah that one...

thought so it controls the airflow and fuel flow to the engine.

dont know much about it i think if u look under FAQ theres some stuff about it there

Take it back to vauxhall..it will prob be on of a few sensors...mine did something similar and that turned out to be the idle control valve.

but just took it to vaux last week and they charged me £47 and said oh sorry no faults... im not doing that again, is there any other way of checkin if its idle control valve??

take it back and say "u said theres no faults on it but there is get a fuckin refund or find the fault now for free"

next time take it to the AA one they got them at most halfords they only charge 24 quid

my light used to come on and cut the engine out all it was,the the speedo sensor i read somewhere that it retards the engine y it would want to retard the engine just cos the speedo dont work i dont no but the f?*@ing thing nearly killed me on a duel carrigeway.

yep its the engine management light (ECU) cud be one thing or many things u can read the fault codes on the ecu by usin a paperclip in the diagnostic plug located in ur fuse box, see here http://www.knighta.f9.co.uk/info/fault_codes/fault_codes.htm

ive never done it myself but ive heard its the same as wot vaux do when they plug it in but not as technical! u can stil find out wot codes its throwin up tho

id go an kick up a fuss in the showroom in front of customers vaux staff get paid enough go on relase all that anger coz a bloody punto had you off onto the staff.
should be godd for a laugh if nothing else

Bend a metal coat hanger and shove it in the two prongs on the front of the ECU, whatever the number the lights flash up, it will display your fault. Sounds to me like fuel starvation.

sound to me ....................................................................its broke

could be a sensor but i had a car that the clutch was slipping the engine sensors went mad and the car had no power but after 10 mins was fine strange

could be crankshaft sensor mine did exectly as yours when you slow down to about 20 mph it just cuts out and all battery lights etc come on it happened on my 1.0 12v and my 1.6 16v,if you leave for a while it starts up fine then goes again!!!

sounds like that prob m8, batt light comes on and it cuts out... is the crankshaft sensor pricy?? and is it DIY??

Same happened to me......T'was the crankshaft sensor as Kev said....cost me £165 quid from vauxhall, iuncluding the diagnostic

noooooooo racing is wrong gives us a bad cred better though when the chick your against getes a puncture u stop and help her change it

ne way do it yourself its way cheaper
