been off sick for last 2 days. flu, heavy cold cant keep any food or liquids down. probably not going to make it in tomorrow either.

its going to look really bad i bet as people will assume i just want time off over christmas. last time i was off sick was in july for 1 day when i had to go to the dentist as a tooth fell out and had exposed root. other than that, january this year i was signed off for 1 week as i couldnt walk after ankle sprain while at work.

surely i should be ok as i genuinely am ill. just the impression i got ringing in sick wasnt a good one. as if i was taking the piss.

ive had 3 days off sick in 3 years, 1 week signed off for ankle. i work late most nights, work my dinner break every day etc. so no, i never have taken the piss. its just hard to make people actually believe you are ill over christmas time. other thing is other staff are already off with holidays booked.

i cant see me going in tomorrow, even if it is an early finish for new years. i feel like shite. but feel oddly worse for letting people down.

actually think i like my job. mental.

these things happen to everyone. I was off with an eye infection a week after being off on holiday. went back for 2 days then got a stomach bug...

im a delivery driver. i will be out the door within an half an hour of getting to work. if i feel like shite when i get to work its only going to get worse. dont wanna be stuck in a van with flu and needing to either hurl or water poo time. its just a fail. hence im at home in bed.

Look at your abscence procedure.

Or go to your GP saying you have torn a muscle in your back (walk like you have a nigerians cock up your arse as usual! :lol and get a sick note. (You can self cert upto 7 days!). It won't get around the procedure but would look more legit then you can stick your feet up you lazy badger!

It's winter, and more people are sicker around this time of the yearanyway.

I was ill for the last few days before Xmas last year, felt like people didn't believe me but sod them. I dont have much time off sick and bosses never mentioned it.
