Hi new year new start and my xbox now has the red ring insted of the green,
im unsure what i should do? where do i stand now had it over a year now and havent got receipt anymore,
any advice?

it seems be workin now but just freezing after 5minutes or so, and i think i was 3 rings when it showed up

RROD is covered by a three year warranty. Simply go to http://www.xbox.com/en-gb/default.htm or call customer service and they will cover a courier to pick up the console from you and ship you back a fixed one. You even get a free months 'Xbox Live' 
Shows good customer service as I don't think that Nintendo or Sony extend their warranty coverage for free.

Are you for real Gary? Is that honestly how you think... Sony "sucks" My PS3 is actually ace online. I've never had it crash because of a "DNS Error". And the reason that Xbox servers are better, is because they are created by Microsoft, not outsourced like the PS3's... Hence paying £40 a year. And I've had the flashing light that killed my last, preowned PS3. However, my bro had one of the first 360's about here, and that died... instantly. Before we even knew what RROD was, it killed the computer before the game even loaded. Excellent. Oh, and I own both consoles. I just feel the PS3 is a far better machine to use. As I've said in another thread, both are actually shit when it comes to quality. I've never known a Megadrive or PS1 having hardware failure.
