yh, i just think 15" bands look a little big, so prefer the 14s myself..

just worried about underneath clearance..

you know if lukes was a pain on the lines?

When i had his Line's on mine i couldn't run it the same as Lukes due to the 20XE sump that hung low.

I know that Luke ran it as low as deemed driveable, but the Lines had 195/40's on. A 45 profile would be a better choice imo

do you know if the 1.4 and 1.6s have the same sump clearance?

yh, im running 195/45s on my borbets (8") on the mk1 and gives a little stretch, obv the 40s would be stretched that little bit more wouldnt they..

looking at lukes pics the front is very high on the lines, so ideally the arches would need to be just above the tyre, just not sure if that would cause problems on 14s..

antoni had 13" wellers didnt he on his arden blue corsa, surely that was a little extreme lol..

the exhaust downpipe flange would be annihilated if you had 14s and dropped it level with the tyre

The front isn't that high, its just the profile of the tyre that makes it look like it is. If they had 45's on, then the arch gap would be less

it wernt that low at pvs.. as the roads aint great leading up to place.

But still was a pain to drive and dont miss it to be fair. 195/45 tyres would of been better to reduce the arch gap at front.

Splitter was pretty much touching floor. few mm off. Always hit first before sump. Werent too major compared to where it sat on the golf. It was drivable like that just had to be careful. go for it
