Crazy ass shit going on in the African Cup of Nations, perhaps teams were right to be worried about their players going out there

Breaking news on SSN just now saying that the Togo national team's bus has come under attack from gunfire in Angola

Not suprisingly there's not much info on it at the moment...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/international/6952631/Togo-team-bus-comes-under-gunfire-attack-in-Angola---players-injured.html

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5844019,00.html - Had to chuckle at the picture they used though... and this quote "We were machine-gunned like dogs" - Is that common practise in Togo?

3rd World Countries can't hold major events for this reason. No security. Same deal with the Sri Lanka Cricket Team coming under fire in Pakistan.

Good point.

If you get a transfer from Sharm-el-sheikh to Cairo on Hoilday you get a fucking police escort, surely they could of been better protected with the money people are earning, Adebayor could of hired a team of body guards!

SSN says 3 players and the driver were injured, not killed.

I hope Drogba gets shot. Not that anyone will realise as he goes down like he's been shot every 5 mins anyway.

They've now pulled out of the cup according to the BBC, and they're trying to get all the other teams to also

As they should, there should be no risk whatsoever to your life just because you play football.

I wonder if Adebayor ran the length of the bus to celebrate in front of the gunners?

If anything happens to him now Cosmopolitan I am holding you personably responsible

I think it's awful about what happened and I don't blame them for not wanting to take part

RIP the driver, asst coach and press officer

You'd probably be right, as chances are Id be the one pulling the trigger.

Glad they pulled out tbh, safety has to come before any level of football and something like this happening is just shocking.
