Manchester United's financial problems may result in them having to sell star asset, striker Wayne Rooney.
Manchester United may be forced to sell Old Trafford to help reduce the club's reported £700m debt.
Manchester United are also exploring the possibility of selling their training base at Carrington.
What do you think Cosmo? Provided you didn't hang yourself last night that is

If you feel the need to turn it into a joke to hide your worry then so be it, but you know that selling players is a real possibility to cover the debt.

Apparently Barca are stepping up their pursuit, with a wage deal giving him £8m after tax.

I doubt rooney would leave, he'd probably want baby shrek to grow up in england and go to an english school. Although we wouldn't miss him as much as ronaldo if he did go imo

This is probably my favourite rumour so far this year
quote:
Manchester United supporters fighting the Glazer family's ownership of the club are contemplating asking manager Sir Alex Ferguson to make the ultimate sacrifice and resign in protest.

Aye, that was in the Sunday papers I think, or yesterdays anyway!
Also say one today that said the Glzaers will take out over £600m from the club over the next few years...how? The club is already making a loss so could no way pay a dividend.

Basically he says the debt is not £716m.
They can buy players when they want, all they have to do is make one phone call to Joel Glazier first.
Have over £100m in the bank. Ronaldo money possibly plus more is available to spend if SAF see's someone he wants.
I dont know what to make of it all or who to believe personally.

Well the accounts they submitted to companies house clearly shows debts of over £700m

You'll have to listen to how he explains it, I dont fully understand this side of things but he makes out that some of that debt is the Glaziers and its not Uniteds.

IIRC its on the holding company, which sole asset is Man United, so if it went tits up then it would be this one asset that would be sold off to fund the repayment of the holding companies debts.
Its exactly how ours is, even though the debt isnt directly on the club, it is really still on it as the holding company has no other assets.

Yeah, so 300mcould be correct and its their personal debts that whack it up to 700m.
Or Gill is just lying!

Its semantics really, as the debt IS on the holding company (the accounts show this), and the holding company only has one asset (its not like his other sports teams are also in there) - so its makes no difference.
So he is trying to pull the wool over your eyes really, he isnt lying, but he isnt exactly revealing the whole truth either - its exactly what our two cunt of owners tried to do.
